 The
origin of Papa Chunks is a bit 'Chunky', but we will try
to slim it down to proportion…
He started as an official DJ (with records!)
at the age of 14. As a natural crowd pleaser he began playing
with his first sound crew, Buckman Productions. Later moving
on to sounds such as Malvern Studios and finally Pimpster
International. "Playing with Pimpster International
was the biggest experience that opened my eyes to the industry
and its potential" Papa Chunks said. Since joining
Pimpster International Papa Chunks has made many achievements.
First, he has been able to MC & DJ alongside some of
the industry's finest DJ's, DJ Jr. Player ~ Buckman Productions,
Da Wizard ~ MS Studios, DJ Magic ~ Pimpster International,
416 Sound ~ Lindo P, African Love Sound ~ DJ Ruckus, Black
Thunder, DJ Solicit, DJ Eddy ~ Crystal Vibez, De Unstoppable
DJ Navi & The F.O.M, Massive Splash, D.W.I.W Sounds
~ DJ Big P, DJ Riyad, 'De Ice Man' DJ Garnet, 'De Soca Playboy'
DJ Sporty, DJ Chinaman ~ Firestone Sounds, Kid Slick, DJ
Wild Apache and WIC, just to name a few. Second, he played
his first Caribana Float in 2001 alongside DJ Garnet and
TriniBoy. That year he also managed to MC alongside one
of the reggae world's most popular artist, Bushman.
In 2002 he cut his first 'Dub Plate' for Pimpster International.
In 2003, he wowed the crowds of three 'Jammin' boat cruises
and contributed to 4 Pimpster International mixed CD's.
In 2004 he shocked the radio world on CHRY 105.5 with his
charisma alongside Niterider, Kid Finesse & Power Play.
As an MC and DJ, Scarborough based Papa Chunks is going
for it all. He is amongst the elite, playing at some of
Toronto's hottest West Indian Clubs, bringing the best in
roots and culture 'each an every time!' His passion for
music has enabled him to represent the West Indian Music
Community with class. For the past 10 years he has been
a flawless and diverse performer who creates positive vibes
wherever he goes.
